At the upcoming 29th Annual Gartner Data Center Conference in Las Vegas (December 6-9), Tyco Electronics (NYSE: TEL) announced that its Enterprise Networks business unit, a provider of network communications infrastructure for large enterprise data centers, will, for the first time, demonstrate its high-density SAN cable management solution and Ethernet technology using the company's MRJ21 Ultra Slim cable assembly.
"The Gartner Data Center Conference is the best possible venue for us to showcase some of our new product offerings," said Ken Schreder, director of strategic alliances for Tyco Electronics Enterprise Networks business unit. "This event focuses on virtualization, cloud computing and new business initiatives that help customers achieve their performance and optimization goals. Our cabling infrastructure technology is the foundation for these IT initiatives and more."
Addressing efficiency in the data center or office network, the company says its customers can benefit from its technologies through: greatly simplified, manageable SAN and network equipment cabling; increased operational efficiency; smaller foot-print, re-usable, modular cabling with "green" benefits; reduced power consumption and increased cooling efficiency; port consolidation; increased network uptime; tracking of moves, adds and changes; and automated infrastructure management with real-time reporting and metrics.
The company says its eco-friendly, high-density, modular cabling systems can save rack and floor space, and can reduce power consumption with the latest generation of data center technologies. These benefits fall into the "Reshaping the Data Center" category of Gartner's Top 10 Strategic Technologies for 2010 announced at last year's Gartner Data Center event.
