Eaton's Wright Line business will be hosting a free webinar that addresses the current solutions that provide a more effective means of containing and managing airflow in the data center.
The premise of the presentation, according to a press release, is thus:
Today's high-density data centers require sophisticated cooling and heat management solutions to alleviate the chaotic cooling practice of continually pumping air conditioning into the data center. Employing simple rack, row- and room-level airflow containment strategies will dramatically increase the predictability of data center energy usage and temperature range.
The webinar session will introduce a number of scalable containment solutions to optimize existing infrastructure investment, reduce energy costs and maximize airflow patterns. Case studies involving companies that have implemented various containment strategies will be discussed. These include a major healthcare corporation and a cloud computing co-location company. Both have created a more cost-effective, efficient and predictable computing environment for their data centers.
Webinar participants will learn: the types of containment methodologies and practices that exist and strategies for determining what may work best for a particular facility; an overview of the most common components that can transform a legacy cold-aisle/hot-aisle configuration into an effective, efficient, contained data center; pre-installation evaluation checklists and post-installation test and measurement practices that create uniform performance metrics.
The 60 minute session will be held on Thursday, October 28, at 2:00 PM EST/11:00 AM PST. Peter Rumsey, Eaton's Wright Line business VP of sales and marketing, will be leading the webinar. Rumsey is a technology industry veteran with more than 20 years of global experience in engineering, design, marketing, sales and service within large enterprise data centers.
