Seminar discusses best practices for data center architectures, media options and testing

Nov. 4, 2011
Online presentation offered by the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section features three technology experts.

A seminar delivered via the web and available on-demand from the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section (FOLS) is entitled "Data Center Best Practices: Architectures, Media Options and Testing." The seminar is presented by Rodney Casteel of CommScope, Alfred Flores of Berk-Tek and Adrian Young of Fluke Networks.

"The need to support efficient operations of high-speed data centers poses unique challenges to network managers," the FOLS explains. "This presentation will provide information that can help attendees better evaluate their choices and understand the tradeoffs inherent in their decisions."

The seminar's presenters:

  • Provide an overview of current data center technology
  • Highlight different standards and compliant architectures and the pros and cons of each approach
  • Discuss what fiber types will best support the migration strategy from data rates of 10 to 40 and 100 Gbits/sec
  • Review testing procedures

Attendees can earn one continuing education credit toward certain professional credentials offered by BICSI.

You can register and watch the seminar here.
