Panduit, Cisco, Intel address 10GBase-T

July 12, 2010
Web seminar explains how 10GBase-T will ease 10G deployment for users.

In a webcast seminar that will be held live on July 22, Panduit will team up with Cisco Systems and Intel to explain how and why 10GBase-T simplifies 10G adoption. Hosted by Cisco, the seminar will also include a presentation by Alan Weckel, director of Ethernet switch market research with Dell'Oro Group.

According to a promotion of the seminar, the need for 10-Gbit Ethernet is driven by higher bandwidth required for server virtualization. It reduces the number of cables, switches and multiple network adapters on each physical server.

The webcast will include technical presentations from Cisco, Intel and Panduit on the following 10GBase-T advancements.

  • Cisco's platform/technology-agnostic approach
  • Intel's LAN-on-motherboard strategy
  • Panduit's cabling infrastructure solutions and best practices
  • Proven highly reliable plug-and-play ecosystem solution from these three vendors

Additionally, Weckel's presentation will provide a historical perspective on "Base-T" technology and how it enabled the mass adotpion of Fast and Gigabit Ethernet. Weckel will also discuss how and why 10GBase-T will enable voluem 10-Gbit Ethernet deployment.

The webcast seminar will premier at 12:00 noon EDT on Thursday, July 22 and then be available for a year.

Register for the Cisco/Intel/Panduit 10GBase-T webcast.
