The Heat Spy product line from Wahl can be used to detect data center hot spots.

Purchasers of Wahl Instruments' Heat Spy Inspector Series thermal-imaging cameras will receive free annual calibrations from the manufacturer. Wahl says that owners can return their imagers annually for a $250-value calibration as well as for firmware updates.

"Maintain the calibration of your instrument to ensure you're getting consistent, quality temperature readings at all times," the company said, also promising quick turnaround on the service. "Heat Spy units are calibrated at our Ashville, NC factory using NIST Traceable equipment," the company added.

Thermal imaging is a technique used to detect hot spots in data centers.
