Leviton Introduces High-Density Cabling and Immersion-Ready Solutions for AI and Hyperscale Data Centers
Leviton has expanded its data center infrastructure portfolio with new high-density fiber products, immersion-ready cabling, and is expanding its global manufacturing capacity all of which are aimed at hyperscale and AI network environments. The additions include patch panels with 3,456 fibers in a single rack unit, as well as new solutions designed for liquid immersion cooling.
Ross Goldman, Chief Operations Officer for Leviton Network Solutions and Chief Sustainability Officer at Leviton, said, “As a vertically integrated global manufacturer of fiber optic cable, connectors, assemblies and enclosures, we have the capacity and agility to provide data centers with scalable end-to-end systems, filling very large volume orders and providing rapid response network infrastructure design support.”
STRATA Infrastructure Solutions Target AI-Driven Density Requirements
The STRATA solutions are aimed at supporting the rising fiber counts driven by increased bandwidth demand and rising transceiver speeds. New offerings include:
- IDX enclosures supporting up to 6,912 fibers for splicing or interconnect.
- Fiber patch panels delivering 3,456 fibers per rack unit using 16-fiber, very-small-form-factor MMC connectors.
- High-count fiber assemblies, array cords, harnesses, and adapter plates, also based on MMC connectivity.
- A Mass Connect System for faster deployment of AI and machine learning networks.
- Five US Conec–certified fiber assembly facilities worldwide to support large-scale customer demand.
- Regionally available, custom cabinet solutions that can support more than 40,000 fibers.
TORRENT Cabling Line Supports Immersion-Cooled Environments
As more AI data centers adopt liquid immersion cooling, Leviton has introduced the TORRENT family of copper and fiber cables. The solutions are tested for immersion compatibility per OCP Materials Compatibility in Immersion Cooling, Rev 1.0, and maintain at least 80% tensile strength and elongation after aging at 80°C for 14 days, meeting ASTM D412 requirements.
Expanded Manufacturing Capacity in North America and Europe
Leviton recently completed a $25 million expansion of its fiber cable plant in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Additionally, the company expanded its make-to-order factory in Europe. The facilities aim to improve the company’s ability to support deployments for global data centers.
