On Wednesday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. EST, the Association for Passive Optical LAN (APOLAN) will present a webinar entitled Passive Optical LAN Technologies – Ramping Up. The presentation will discuss how recent, rapid passive optical LAN deployments have resulted in cost savings, energy savings, and have "turned floor-space savings into revenue-generating uses."
The webinar's schedule is as follows: First, Dave Cunningham (Corning), APOLAN board chairman and president, will introduce the association and discuss its mission and future. Next, John Short (IBM), APOLAN vice-president, will explain what passive optical LAN is, where it can be utilized, and how it benefits government, military, commercial enterprise, healthcare, education and hospitality entities.
Blaine Overstreet (Leidos, formerly SAIC), APOLAN's chairman-elect will conclude the presentation by demonstrating how passive optical LAN projects can provide monetary, energy and space savings while future-proofing the LAN relative to security, stability, scalability and bandwidth demands.
