WowClowd enables technicians to run cabling tests from a smartphone app.

At this week's 2014 BICSI Winter Conference, WOW Insites, LLC (Omaha, Neb.) has officially launched WOWClowd, its proprietary "Mobile Cloud" technology. Previously launched in a beta version, the WowClowd technology enables technicians to accurately run cabling tests from a smartphone app.

According to the company, the WOWClowd Solution brings to mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets a handily designed test application geared especially toward technicians, allowing them to leverage cloud technology to gain immediate access to real-time test results, as well as project management tools and customer floor plans.

Based on Bluetooth wireless technology, the WOWTester connects to a mobile device; the WOWTester App is then able to initiate and run cable tests, allowing onsite technicians to view testing progress and results in real-time on their mobile devices. According to WOWClowd's vice president of product, Carey Gille, the free downloadable WOWTester App eliminates cumbersome traditional tester scroll buttons, allowing technicians to use the familiar and advanced interface of their own mobile device.

"Our mobile cloud capability significantly improves productivity, information access and profitability as owners, project managers, supervisors, field personnel and clients will now have real-time access to the cloud where test results, project management tools, customer floor plans, and other project documentation are collected, time stamped, stored and backed up," says Gille. "Because test results will feed immediately to the cloud, data is instantly accessible, rather than delayed, awaiting manual transfer -- or even worse, accidentally lost when testers are shared, misplaced or stolen."

Gille adds, "Even more, this solution optimizes client retention as clients can also be granted cloud access with pre-set permissions to view real-time project information including status, test results and floor plans, influencing them to return to the solution provider to access this information for future projects."

WOWClowd will be exhibiting and taking pre-orders for the WOWClowd Solution at its 2014 BICSI Winter Conference booth #533. For more information, visit www.wowclowd.com.
