To further its presence on the World Wide Web, PennWell Publishing Co. (Tulsa, OK) recently announced the launch of a new Web-based company that will provide telecommunications equipment manufacturers with qualified sales leads.
In the future, PennWell Media Online LLC (Nashua, NH) will take on a significant role on the Web, says Dave Janoff, chief executive of the new company. He is also vice president and group publisher of the Communications and Optoelectronics Group of PennWell`s Advanced Technology Div. (Nashua, NH), which publishes Cabling Installation & Maintenance, Cabling News, Lightwave, and Wireless Integration.
"PennWell Media Online will become a full-fledged media company with capabilities for live events over the Internet," Janoff says. "We will deliver the spectrum of media applications to serve the telecommunications market."
PennWell Media Online was launched following the acquisition of the Broadband Telephony Buyer`s Guide (Boca Raton, FL). Since 1995, that company provided a real-time telecommunications buyer`s guide for professionals who design, build, operate, and maintain electronic communications networks worldwide.
Ellen Caravello, president and founder of the buyer`s guide company, will join the new company as chief operating officer. "The new company offers an outstanding opportunity to combine PennWell`s extensive content, infrastructure, and market position with a proven electronic resource already used by 40,000 professionals monthly to find information on vendors," she says.
