The Building Industry Consulting Service International Inc. (Tampa, FL) has announced plans to develop a program to evaluate and register an individual`s telecommunications installation knowledge. According to Jay Warmke, BICSI`s executive director, the program will address the complexities of low-voltage installation and the critical part installation plays in total system performance. According to Jay Warmke, BICSI`s executive director, the program will address the complexities of low-voltage installation and the critical part installation plays in total system performance. The BICSI Institute plans to offer a curriculum of courses within the next six months in support of this program.

Since 1984, BICSI, an international telecommunications professional association has conducted a similar program, known in the industry as the RCDD (registered communications distribution designer) program, for designers of low-voltage telecommunications systems.
