Q: I read that TIA/EIA-568A was approved. However, I cannot get a copy in Japan. Can we get a copy of the current standard through the Internet? If so, where is the access point and what is the fee?

A: TIA/EIA-568A was approved in March 1995 by the TR41.8.1 working group at its committee meeting and was then sent to the editorial committee. The editors discovered some areas that required clarification. These clarifications required a ballot on the issues in question. Barring any further problems, the document will be published and soon be available from Global Publications telephone (800) 854-7179. The standards are not available through the Internet.
