Color coded, insulated copper cabling lugs ease installation

From Thomas & Betts, Color-Keyed Insulated Lugs eliminate the time-consuming task of covering the lug with tape, heat-shrink or cold-shrink insulation after it has been installed.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Color-Keyed Insulated Lugs from Thomas & Betts (NYSE: TNB) reduce installation time and cost by eliminating the time-consuming task of covering the lug with tape, heat-shrink or cold-shrink insulation after it has been installed, contends the company.

According to Thomas & Betts, the translucent nylon sleeves covering the lug system provides excellent dielectric strength and insulating properties, while keeping the color-coded barrels easily visible. Pre-positioned nylon sleeves enable the lugs to be crimped on top of cable insulation while ensuring that none of the cable is left exposed once the lugs are crimped.
