FOA offering ANSI-approved fiber-installation standard for free

Jan. 20, 2012
FOA members can download NECA/FOA 301 Installing and Testing Fiber Optics at no cost.

Members of The Fiber Optic Association can now receive a free copy of the NECA/FOA 301 installing and Testing Fiber Optics standard. The FOA recently announced this benefit to its membership, stating it is offering the spec for free "because of its importance to users, contractors and installers of fiber-optic networks."

The FOA further explained, "Standards usually cover components and systems and how to test them, but rarely get into installation issues. This standard is derived from FOA educational material put in standards form and approved by ANSI as an American National Standard. It's specifically written to be used in contracts to define 'installation in a neat and workmanlike manner.'"

You can go to this portion of the FOA site for instructions on how to download a free copy of NECA/FOA 301.
