Federal agency seeking quotes for Cat 6 installation

Department of the Interior's Bureau of Indian Affairs seeks bids for project in North Carolina.

The Department of the Interior's Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is seeking requests-for-quotation for the installation of a Category 6 cabling plant, as well as removal of existing cabling infrastructure. Posted on the Web site FedBizOpps.gov, the solicitation is classified as a small-business set-aside.

Specific language in the solicitation is as follows.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Cherokee Agency, Cherokee, North Carolina is soliciting quotes to perform structured cable relocation/installation. The contractor will provide all material, labor, tools, insurance, permits and supervision to install a Category 6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) network cabling plant, including the removal of the existing cable infrastructure where identified by the BIA representative.

A scope of work was not provided, but is available for those who inquire via email by June 5. A mandatory site visit will be held on June 16. The project will have to be completed no more than 45 days after the contract is awarded.
