Yes or No: Should You Reference the Current Revision of a Standard in Project Specifications?
When Cindy Montstream, vice chair of TIA’s TR-42.1, talked to us about the TIA’s project to consolidate three standards into one, one comment she made was easy to miss and deserves a replay. In this less-than-1-minute clip, Cindy discusses whether or not you should state the current revision of a standard when writing project specifications. For example, the current revision of the ANSI/TIA-568.0 standard is “E.” So if you’re writing a spec today, should you say the project must comply with the 568.0-E standard? Watch the video to hear Cindy explain why the answer is probably “No,” … but when it could be “Yes.” Sound confusing? It could be, but Cindy explains it in a way that will keep your project specifications accurate and current.
