Tone probe

The A-Bug Model 140 tone probe detects and amplifies tones for cable-pair identification in telephone, local area network, and other cables. The handheld device features an ergonomic pistol-grip design and nonmetallic capacitive tip that picks up tones in the 500- to 5000-hertz band. Other features include a light-emitting diode as well as audio indication of positive pair identification, weather-proof speaker, headphone jack, on/off switch with automatic time-out, and adjustable gain control.
