WDM couplers

June 1, 1997
Based on fused biconic taper technology, the 4-port add/drop wdm couplers enable access to the 1310-nm signal in a 1310/1550-nm multiplexed fiber channel. The 1310-nm signal is demultiplexed and removed from one port for detection. A regenerated or totally new signal at 1310 nm can be inserted into another port for multiplexing back onto the 1310/1550-nm channel. Signals transmitted at 1550 nm pass through the device without interference. These products are offered in a 2 x 2 module or 948 Serie
