High-performance test module

To ensure accurate measuring of fiber-optic networks, the HP E4324A ultra-high-performance test module extends the range capabilities of the HP 8147 optical time-domain reflectometer to more than 42 decibels at 1310-nanometer wavelengths and 20-microsecond pulsewidth. Dynamic range is 41 dB at 1550-nm wavelengths. The test module has a built-in continuous-wave source for loss testing and fiber identification. It also features a scan-trace algorithm. The device is priced at $24,000.
