Fiber-optic transceivers

Designed with a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (vcsel) source, the transceiver increases the throughput of systems and subsystems in the backbone. The vcsel-based multimode transceiver line includes the Gigabit Ethernet SX transceiver for use in local area network routers, switches, and hubs; the Fibre Channel SX transceiver for use in hubs and mass- storage interconnections; and the vcsel-based 622-megabit-per-second transceiver, which is used in telecommunications and network backbone
