The X76 fusion splicer incorporates three-dimensional profile alignments and on-site loss calculation. Two cameras allow simultaneous viewing of the X and Y axes, as well as accurate fiber end-angle determinations. Splice loss is calculated and displayed on a high-resolution liquid-crystal display.
