Legrand North America and the employees of its subsidiaries will be contributing to Hurricane Katrina relief and recovery in the form of donations to the American Red Cross.
The subsidiaries include On-Q/Legrand, Ortronics/Legrand, Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Watt Stopper/Legrand, and Wiremold/Legrand. Legrand North America has announced that it will be matching these employee contributions to the Red Cross for up to $100,000.
"The response by our employees was overwhelming," says John Selldorff, CEO of Legrand North America. "They have always been ready to do what they can when the need is there. This gives us an opportunity to make a real difference in a time of tremendous need."
Employees of Wiremold/Legrand had a close personal connection to the hurricane and floods. Dale Budenski, a Wiremold sales representative, lives in Metairie, LA. Fortunately, his house sustained only minor damage, and a nearby levee remained intact.
"Evelyn and I feel very lucky as we are a lot better off than most," he related in an email to Wiremold/Legrand colleagues. "Our family is safe, we have livable property to return to and we had no looting. We thank everyone at Wiremold for all the thoughts, prayers, and support. We cannot tell you how much you have helped us get through this tragedy."
