Fluke Networks gear to help qualify copper lines for triple-play

June 8, 2005
June 8, 2005 - A telecom company will use the NetDSL system in its efforts to bring voice, data, and video to 18 million households.

Fluke Networks (www.flukenetworks.com) recently announced that its NetDSL Bulk VDSL Qualification System will prequalify and condition a major telecommunications company's copper plant for high-speed video and data services. The unnamed telecom provider will use the test equipment as part of its plan to deliver triple-play services to 18 million households by the end of 2007. The company has named Fluke Networks its primary supplier of copper-pair VDSL qualification equipment.

"We are delighted to be an integral part of this project," said Ed Sztuka, Fluke Networks' telecom business unit director. "NetDSL will help our customers rapidly deploy next-generation ADSL and VDSL based services and in this case, they will directly benefit from the existing field records verification program they have been operating since 2002.

"Fluke Networks' NetDSL solution allows telecommunication service operators to rapidly prequalify and condition the plant in targeted deployment areas, enabling them to expedite and guarantee service delivery to their customers," Sztuka added.
