March 14, 2002--The UniCam MTP connector, designed for use in parallel-optics applications, terminates a 12-fiber ribbon.

Corning Cable Systems (CCS--www.corningcablesystems.com) is demonstrating the new UniCam MTP connector technology at this week's Optical Fiber Communication Conference.

CCS's UniCam MTP Connector is designed for use in parallel optics applications. The newly developed connector, which terminates 12-fiber ribbon, is rapidly field-installable.

The connector is designed to be a solution for field installation of high fiber count assemblies using ribbon fibers. It utilizes the same no-epoxy/no-polish technology as CCS's single-fiber UniCam connectors.

Based in Hickory, NC, Corning Cable Systems manufactures optical fiber and copper telecommunications system solutions for voice, data and video network applications.
