Graybar (www.graybar.com) opened its fourteenth distribution center, this one in the Tampa, FL area, on February 18. The 212,422-square-foot center employs 64 people and provides next-day service to customers throughout Florida.
Located in Riverview, the regional zone warehouse maintains inventory of electrical, communications, and data supplies and equipment. It serves as a replenishment and shipping facility for Graybar branches in the area.
Sales and customer-service functions as well as counter and will-call service will continue to be handled out of existing Graybar branches in the region.
Graybar says that when it completes the rollout of its logistics network, it will have 16 regional warehouses enabling the company to ship orders to 98% of its customers within 24 hours. The regional zone warehouses stock slow-moving and hard-to-find items, Graybar says.
