Nexans launches online training program

Nov. 14, 2002
Nov. 14, 2002--The cable manufacturer says the program is intended to supplement, not replace, face-to-face training.

Nexans (www.nexans.com) has developed a Web-based training program dedicated to data cabling systems. The program is intended to supplement the company's infrastructure courses.

"The online service will enable Nexans to increase the level of support that it offers to its partners, and to reply more quickly to requests for training from around the world," the company said in a statement announcing the training program. "The service will enable subscribers to receive immediate updates on issues such as standards changes, new products, safety practices, and other content while at the same time users can follow guided training modules and have access to a 24-hour/7-day support resource."

"In a market which evolves at this speed, the need to keep our partners and customers up to date is vital," says Pieter Wuyts, cabling solutions training manager with Nexans. "The Web has given us the opportunity to increase support to all regions, however remote, and to provide training opportunities to those who struggle to find the time to attend courses. E-learning is not intended as an easy substitute for face-to-face training, but is an excellent supplementary tool that increases speed, flexibility, and availability of information for the subscriber."

More information and a demonstration are available at www.nexans.com/ncs.
