Graybar to hold technology showcase

Dec. 27, 2002 - Event will take place at BICSI winter conference.

Graybar will host a technology showcase at the BICSI Winter 2003 Conference. The showcase will feature wireless and optical networking to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and media conversion systems, the latest communications and data networking technologies.

The conference will be held in Orlando, Fla., in January.

All of the products on display - including Corning Cable Systems' Free-Space Optics; Plantronics, Inc.'s Bluetooth cordless headsets; and media conversion technologies from Transition Networks - are sold to customers by Graybar. Graybar is a distributor of electrical, networking, and telecommunications products and services.

The showcase will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, in the Osceola Room, Ballroom Level, of the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Orlando. It will feature the following manufacturers and their products:

* Allen Tel Products, Inc., which manufactures Graybar VIP2000 connectivity,
* American Power Conversion Corp., which manufactures new-generation power back-up systems,
* Corning Cable Systems, which manufactures Free-Space Optics,
* IDEAL Industries, Inc., which manufactures the LANTEK Category 6, Level III, Hand-held Cable Certifier,
* Mohawk/CDT, which manufactures Graybar VIP2000 cables,
* Panduit Corp., which manufactures Tak-Tape,
* Plantronics, Inc., which manufactures Bluetooth cordless headsets,
* Southwest Data Products, which manufactures Zone Wall Cabinets,
* Tempo, which manufactures optical fiber systems and network test equipment,
* 3Com, which manufactures wireless LANs, VoIP, LAN switches, and the new NJ200 Network Jack,
* Transition Networks, which manufactures media conversion technologies

Graybar representatives and design engineers from the participating manufacturers will be on hand to discuss the new technologies and answer any questions.

The Graybar Technology Showcase is open to BICSI attendees, training instructors, and members of the media. Reservations are not required, and there is no admission fee.
