Agilent extends fiber-installation training beyond North America
Feb. 7, 2002
February 7, 2002--The manufacturer will takes its 'garage tour' to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa this year.
Agilent Technologies (www.agilent.com) recently announced that it will extend its U.S. and Canada "garage tour" road show to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The tour is part of a training package designed to improve the skills of installation and maintenance technicians. It includes short, customized sessions that the company says allow technicians to use existing and future equipment more effectively, make more-informed purchasing decisions, and accelerate return on investment.
"Today's rapid growth in fiber counts and installations coincides with a decrease in trained technicians and the time they can devote to training," said Bill Mortimer, vice president and general manager of Agilent's communications services solutions. "Hence, our customers ask for user-friendly products and for training that is easy to implement in formats that fit technicians' needs and schedules."
Throughout 2002, the garage tour will visit installation and maintenance facilities of service providers, network equipment manufacturers, contractors, telecommunications companies, and community access television providers.
