3M Corporation's (www.3m.com) Enterprise Network Business Unit is part of a reorganization within 3M's telecom division to enable the delivery of reliable, personal bandwidth to its customers via fiber, copper or wireless access. 3M's acquisition of the European telecommunications equipment supplier Quante AG in the fourth quarter of 2000 will expand 3M's lines of copper cabling and networking products. 3M will enter the core switch market with the introduction of the Volition (www.3m.com/volition) 900-Gigabit Ethernet routing switch. The Volition system consists of all the products needed to install, or progress toward a complete fiber optic LAN.
