Dec. 22, 2003--The Vancouver data center of Crystal Decisions is deploying the real-time physical-layer management system.

RiT Technologies (www.rittech.com) recently announced that Crystal Decisions, a privately held Palo Alto, CA-based company and provider of business-intelligence software and services, has chosen RiT's PatchView system as the basis for global upgrades of its communication network infrastructure. Crystal Decisions has more than 25 offices worldwide.

Following an eight-month evaluation process, Crystal Decisions chose PatchView's Intelligent Physical Layer Management Solution to manage its data center headquarters in Vancouver, BC Canada. The data center houses all Crystal's corporate data, including intranet, ERP, CRM, and sales-force automation systems. With the RiT system, Crystal moved 300 servers from their previous location, with an average five-minute installation time per server. Crystal said that previously, 45-minute installation time per server was average. The company is also deploying the PatchView system in San Francisco and in Europe.

"Like Crystal, RiT understands that information is everything," praises Henry Wilsenack, director of global networking and telecommunications for Crystal Decisions. "PatchView allowed us to save time and money, both in speed of doing business and also our responsiveness to our responsiveness to our business unit needs. As we extend the technology throughout the enterprise, we are taking advantage of its remote management and planning capabilities for branches in San Francisco and Paris, with a substantial reduction in outsourcing expenses."

Liam Galin, president and CEO of RiT, added, "We are pleased that Crystal Decisions considers us experts in physical layer information. We look forward to working closely with Crystal's IT teams to assure a smooth installation of the PatchView system, and to help it achieve all of the rapid return-on-investment benefits."
