ETL SEMKO launches country-specific Web sites

Feb. 5, 2003 - Sites can deliver culturally tailored testing information to international cable manufacturers.

The ETL SEMKO division of Intertek Testing Services has launched a series of multi-lingual, country-specific customer Web sites.

ETL SEMKO provides EMC testing and performance testing for customers in such industries as cables and wiring accessories, telecommunications and electronics.

The sites are designed to deliver culturally tailored testing and certification information to manufacturers, design engineers and other conformity assessment professionals.

Six of these regional Web sites became active on Jan. 6. They include:

* China (www.china.etlsemko.com)
* Germany (www.germany.etlsemko.com)
* Italy (www.italy.etlsemko.com)
* Japan (www.japan.etlsemko.com)
* Sweden (www.Sweden.etlsemko.com)
* UK (www.uk.etlsemko.com)

The sites are designed to provide ETL SEMKO's international customers with a forum that is personalized to specific geographic locations. Worldwide customers can now log onto an ETL SEMKO regional Web site that features conformity assessment services available to their area.

On these sites, customers can access country-applicable information including locally serviced certification marks, regional accreditations, product testing application procedures and forms, industry specific solutions and local news.

In the coming months, ETL SEMKO will launch similar regional Web sites for other core regions of business, including Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Mexico, Argentina, Canada and the United States.

ETL SEMKO is based in Boxborough, Mass. For more information visit
