Info-Comm Networks Continue to Revolutionize the Communications World

According to a study from Business Communications Company, Inc. (www.bccresearch.com) RG-252: Infocom Networks: Markets by Traffic Type and Technology, the spending on electronic information-communication networks accounted for a total of $504.13 billion in 2000. Voice Networks will continue to generate the most revenue of any single category, with projected 2005 expenditures totaling $469.42 billion. Data networks, including the Internet, legacy private networks, and WANS, and LANS, will be the fastest growing area of info-comm spending. Financial transaction networks, including financial EDI, electronic funds transfer, online and Internet financial service, and e-commerce systems, will reach a 2005 expenditure level of $209.915 billion.
