August 6, 2001 The Siemon Company recently announced the formation of a new OEM business unit (www. www.siemon.com/OEM), headed by Randy Below. Randy's title is vice president of OEM business. The dedicated business unit will focus on meeting the demand from OEM customers for The Siemon Co.'s copper and fiber components.

Below has been with the company since 1985, and previously held the position of engineering manager.

"As a result of our success and reputation in the marketplace, we were being approached by more and more OEM customers who wanted to purchase Siemon components," stated Below. "Establishing a dedicated unit will allow us to better serve the needs of new and existing OEM customers."

"The market size for OEM connectors is about ten times the size of the market for telecommunications cabling," noted company president Carl Siemon. "By dedicating resources to this market, we can leverage our existing strengths and capabilities to gain share by applying Siemon technology to new applications."
