August 13, 2001 ADC (www.adc.com) recently executed a licensing agreement with Amphenol Fiber Optic Products (www.amphenol.com) to produce and market the LX.5 small-form-factor connector and adapter. The licensing agreement allows Amphenol to manufacture, market, and distribute the LX.5 worldwide.

"Amphenol brings a wealth of experience manufacturing and marketing high-quality connectors," says Sandra McWilliams, ADC's director of fiber connectivity products. "The licensing agreement provides customers with another quality source for the LX.5."

"We are excited to join forced with ADC to promote the LX.5," says Stuart Abelson, general manager of Amphenol Corp., Fiber Optic Products. "The response to the connector from original equipment manufacturers and network operators has been phenomenal."

The LX.5 was launched in September 1998, and was designed to terminate two fibers in the space of one traditional connector. It is available in simplex or duplex configurations.
