Acterna and Tycom sign agreement for fiber-optic testers

August 7, 2001 Acterna has signed a multi-million dollar agreement with TyCom Ltd.

August 7, 2001 Acterna (www.acterna.com) has signed a multi-million dollar agreement with TyCom Ltd (www.tycomltd.com). To date, Acterna has received orders for more than 500 handheld fiber-optic test sets and portable network analyzers to support deployment of the TyCom Global Network. The total orders received to date make this Acterna's largest contract.

Under the terms of the agreement with TyCom, Acterna is providing Advanced Network Testers (ANTs) supporting bit rates up to 10 Gbits/sec, as well as optical power meters, sources, attenuators, optical time-domain reflectometers (OTDRs), and the company's analyzers.
