It is designed to teach the residential cabling installer about the cables and connectors used for security, audio-video systems, and home networks.

The cable section of the video covers electrical and mechanical specifications and matching requirements for each residential application area, including power and control, audio, video, radio-frequency and broadband, high-speed data, and computer interconnection. The connectors section covers the proper use and installation of connectors for each type of power, audio, video, telecommunications, and data application.
