Compel signs agreement with Alcatel

August 2, 2001 Compel (www.compel.net), a technology-service provider, recently announced that it will market, install, and maintain the Alcatel (www.alcatel.com) OmniPCX 4400 and Omni family of data products for enterprise networks. As an Alcatel business partner, Compel is authorized to sell and provide technical support for Alcatel's entire line of voice and data convergence products to medium and large enterprises.

"At Compel, we recognize Alcatel's voice/data convergence strategy as the future direction for IP-based voice communications systems," says Robert Palmer, Compel's vice president of sales. "By adding the Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 to our portfolio, we can offer enterprise customers today's most advanced VoIP convergence solutions, combining sophisticated business applications with the lowest risk migration strategy from legacy PBXs to IP telephony."

The Omni PCX 4400 is based on a client/server UNIX architecture, and includes scalability from 50 to 50,000 users.
