Broadview Networks, a network-based, electronically integrated communications provider, is bringing small/medium-sized businesses and home offices Voice over DSL (VoDSL) service.

Called Broadspeed Voice over DSL, the service provides multiple voice lines, fax and high-speed Internet access over existing telephone wiring. The service is being rolled out in 14 Boston-area locations, including Ware Street and Harrison Street in Boston, Back Bay, Cambridge and Newton.

First launched in New York City earlier this year, the new service gives smaller businesses the same communications advantages as larger corporations.

"Combining voice and data services on one copper wire pair has significant advantages for customers," says Dave Thomas, executive vice president of sales. "Our bundled offer gives customers multiple services at substantial cost savings and allows them to easily add and subtract lines as their needs change. And with the digital technology, they're poised to use future new Broadview Networks products and services to expand their communications services as their business grows."

Ken Shulman, chief technology officer for Broadview Networks, believes Broadspeed Voice over DSL service brings high-tech solutions to an under-served market.
