Mary Bradshaw, vice president of global enterprise market development for the Telecommunications Industry Association (, has received the prestigious Tom F. Carter award for 2001. She is the first staff person and first woman to receive the award.

The award was created to recognize outstanding service in the public interest in the field of telecommunications. It was given to and named in honor of Tom F. Since its inception in 1978, the Carter award has been given to 21 industry leaders to recognize their outstanding contributions to the telecommunications industry.

"For almost 20 years, Mary has helped association members seize opportunities in the restructured market," says Fred Yentz, chair of the TIA Global Enterprise Market Development Committee. "I am extremely pleased to honor Mary for her distinguished service," says Yentz.

Bradshaw recently took on the role of vice president of the TIA's Global Enterprise Market Development Committee when the MultiMedia Telecommunications Association, of which she served as president from 1998-2000, was integrated into the TIA.

Prior to her role as president of the MultiMedia Telecommunications Association, Bradshaw also held a number of other management positions with the organization. These included vice president, director of industry relations and director of programs and publications.
