September 13, 2001 Stratos Lightwave Inc. announced the opening of its new Northwest Technology Center, outside Seattle, WA.

September 13, 2001 Stratos Lightwave Inc. (www.stratoslightwave.com) announced the opening of its new Northwest Technology Center, located outside Seattle, WA. The company says the mission of this center is the exploration and development of advanced technologies, subsystems, and products for fiber-optic communications. The center also will serve as the company's West Coast customer-interface point.

Initially, the center will focus on developments in the realm of storage area networks. It will also be the site for functions and tasks including performance modeling for optical transmitters and receivers, development of test methods, and production of prototypes.
