C-COR.net to supply fiber and network management system in Indonesia

June 28, 2001 C-COR.net announced that the company is part of a successful consortium bid to develop a broadband network in Indonesia for Pt. Indosat Mega Media (IMM).
June 28, 2001 C-COR.net (www.c-cor.net) announced that the company is part of a successful consortium bid to develop a broadband network in Indonesia for Pt. Indosat Mega Media (IMM). During the first phase of the contract, C-COR.net will supply equipment for the construction of a hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) system passing 15,000 Indonesian homes from two headends to one in Jakarta and one in Surabaya. Designed for 500 to 700 homes per node, the new network will include the company's fiber-optic equipment, optical nodes, coaxial cable amplifiers, and their cable network manager element management system.
The winning consortium includes Fujikura Ltd. of Japan serving as the optical fiber manufacturer; Pt. Sumitomo Indonesia of Indonesia and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan serving as the main contractor to IMM and total project coordinator; and Pan Asian Systems (PAS) of Hong Kong supplying signal distribution equipment. PAS is C-COR.net's exclusive distributor in Asia and its representative within the consortium team. The consortium was selected over eight other bids in the competitive win.
