June 6, 2001 Telect Inc. (www.telect.com) introduced its new Advanced Distribution Frame (ADF), a fiber-optic distribution system, at SUPERCOMM 2001 in Atlanta. ADF is essentially a patch panel for long-haul fiber-optic networks and is specifically designed to accommodate emerging technologies in high fiber count central offices, gateways and CATV head ends.

The ADF features 30 mm or greater bend radius protection in every curve and transition and offers 2,304 terminations in a 26" wide frame using Small Form Factor (SFF) LC connectors, or 1,536 terminations in a 26" wide frame using SC connectors. Telect describes the ADF as the only high-density optical distribution frame on the market to meet the industry standard recommendation for protecting high bandwidth fiber in high-density environments.

Labeling is provided on the incoming housing, as well as the front, side and inside of each tray, minimizing costly identification errors and ADF limits the number of exposed circuits at a time to only 6 or 8. The frame is available now from Telect's worldwide distribution network.
