June 15, 2001 DRG International (www.drg-macsys.com) debuted the MACsys2 line of furniture-with-cabling at the NeoCon exhibition in Chicago. According to DRG president Mark Bassil, MACsys2 features an off-module design and ready-to-assemble (RTA) framing. Bassil called the system "a totally redesigned, standards-compliant plug-and-play lay-in cabling-management system for increased cabling capacity, more pathway options, and easier access."

He said the off-module design "allows shelving, bins, and walls to be placed where needed instead of being dictated by structural considerations. RTA framing is erected on-site for walls from 30 inches to ceiling height, and support panels up to 8 feet wide. Load-bearing floor-to-ceiling stackable panels are sealed at the top and bottom for structural integrity."

He said the system is ready for shipment.
