Corning signs long-term supply agreement with Daewon

Corning Inc. (www.corning.com), a supplier of optical fiber, and Daewon Cable (www.dwcable.co.kr) of Korea have signed a long-term supply contract for Corning singlemode optical fiber.
Corning will provide about 90% of Daewon Cable�s total singlemode fiber requirements through 2005. Daewon is a supplier to the Korean telecommunications market, as well as other select global markets. Daewon was recently contracted to supply high-performance optical fiber cable to a Korea Telecom project, valued at $8 million.
�This contract reflects Daewon's commitment to supply high-performance fiber optic cable to the Korean market,� says Yong-Won Lee, president of Corning Korea. �Daewon's customers will receive high-quality optical fiber that will meet their network requirements of today and tomorrow."
Daewon Cable Company, Ltd. supplies a broad range of high value-added cables. These include optical fiber, data communication, foam skin, and medium voltage products for both local and overseas markets.
