July 30, 2001 General Cable (www.generalcable.com) is one of the first cable manufacturers to join Division 17.com (www.division17.com), a commercial web site. The Division 17 initiative began over two years ago as a proposal to the Construction Specifications Institute. It was initiated to integrate telecommunication systems into the design of a building. This commercial Web site will allow architects, designers, consultants, contractors, project managers, and other Technology and Communications Systems (TACS) industry professionals access to technical data provided by telecommunications vendors such as General Cable. Division17.com will be one of the tools used by the industry to plan cabling systems. In addition, this media will let you download a General Cable 3-Part cable specification. Division17.com has become a web portal for TACS professionals around the country averaging more than 30,000 page views per month.
