July 3, 2001 The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA—www.caba.org) recently announced that it formed an Information Council, whose goal is to identify and review white papers and research for the CABA Information Series. In announcing the formation of the council and its function, CABA said in a written statement, "All publications will be chosen after rigorous assessment by the Council, and then published to the CABA Web site."
CABA president Ron Zimmer estimated that the advent of the Information Council will increase the organization's research output by 400%.
The council currently has 19 members. Some that are familiar to the structured cabling industry are FTM Consulting, Home Director Inc., Parks Associates, and Systems Contractor News.
Kenneth Wacks, a management and engineering consultant, chairs the council; Chris Wildfoerster of Crestron Electronics is vice chair.
