July 5, 2001 Eddie Edwards, formerly president of Alcatel's RFS subsidiary, has been named executive vice president of strategic development of CommScope (www.commscope.com) and president of the company's Wireless Products Group. Since 1999, Edwards served as president of Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), a subsidiary of Alcatel. RFS manufactures antennas, cable systems, and RF subassemblies for wireless infrastructure. He previously held executive positions in Alcatel's cable business. Edwards will work out of CommScope's Hickory, NC headquarters.
