April 17, 2001 Tempo Corporation (www.tempocomm.com) has introduced their latest VIP test module for ADSL turn-up validation. This new service test module is designed to meet the needs of installers, turn-up providers, and services who are required to ensure ADSL communications between the customer and CO are established and are performing as subscribed.
The VIP system acquires and displays both downstream and upstream performance data for maximum attainable bit rate, actual bit rate, noise margin, attenuation, output power, and relative capacity. The VIP-ADSL instrument will display the data and will compare to PASS/FAIL limits on its comprehensive full-results screen. The instrument also offers a unique speed-o-meters presentation of the actual bit rates. For added troubleshooting a bits-per-tone screen with a zoom feature and CRC error counter with built-in count-down timer are included.
The test sequence is initiated by a simple, single GO button which is accessible from any of the display screens. Pass/Fail limit values are entered and stored within a table. The ADSL links turn-up results are clearly and immediately indicated to field technicians on the PCs large, color display. Results can be stored and printed for customers proof of service or archived for future comparison.
