May 23, 2001 Market researcher Business Communications Co. (BCC) projects that the value of shipments worldwide of uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) will increase from $6.14 billion in 2000 to $11.18 billion in 2005, an annual growth rate of 12.7%. Most of the sales revenue during the study period will come from the purchase of UPS equipment itself, including standby, line-interactive, online, and flywheel UPSs.
