The first meeting of the Part 68 Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA) will take place May 2, 2001, in Bethesda, Md.
ACTA is the industry council for Part 68 certification requirements and administration following the FCC's decision to privatize its Part 68 responsibilities and select TIA (www.tiaonline.org) and ATIS (www.atis.org) to serve as joint sponsors of the council. ACTA will be responsible for adopting and publishing technical criteria for terminal equipment submitted to it by American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-accredited standards development organizations, and operating and maintaining a database of approved terminal equipment, among other duties.
