January 9, 2008 -- At the International CES 2008, HomePlug powerline network solutions provider Asoka USA introduced two performance test tools: the PlugLink AV Performance Network Tester (PL8060-PNT) and the PlugLink Performance Network Tester (PL8050-PNT).
The PL8060-PNT performance network tester is a 200 Mbit/sec HomePlug AV tester for data, voice, and IPTV. The PL8050-PNT performance network tester is an 85 Mbit/sec HomePlug 1.0 tester for data and voice. The company contends that both testers that will "significantly impact network installation and performance for powerline networking."
The company maintains that today's service providers and system integrators are "blind sighted" when they encounter performance issues while installing powerline networks. The company says its performance network testers provide "a slew of helpful information" such as bandwidth availability, packet loss information, and detection of jitter and latency issues.
"Being able to analyze and troubleshoot a network is critical for our customers," says Dano Ybarra, Asoka CEO. "We are determined not only to deliver the best powerline networking products, but to provide our customers with tools that will enable them to install and integrate powerline networks with minimal hassle and the highest success rates."
The SRP for Asoka's PL8060-PNT Performance Network Tester and PL8050-PNT Performance Network Tester is $600 each and includes 3 adapters and a CD. The products will be available for purchase in late 1Q08.
